Stereolithography Additive Manufacturing of Glass/Ceramic Composite Components with Self-similar Structures

چکیده
Ceramic and glass materials exhibit desirable properties for various applications. A glass-ceramic composite material could be utilized as an alternative to pure ceramic materials, with a reduced energy requirement processing recycling. In this work, customized photosensitive pastes containing zirconia particles were created processed by stereolithography. Complex 2- dimensional 3-dimensional Hilbert curve structures designed analysed computational fluid dynamics visualize heat transfer streamline distributions. Paste composition, stereolithography process parameters, post-processing treatments investigated, complex components of the custom successfully fabricated.

Self-supporting rhombic infill structures for additive manufacturing
Recent work has demonstrated that the interior material layout of a 3D model can be designed to make a fabricated replica satisfy application-specific demands on its physical properties, such as resistance to external loads. A widely used practice to fabricate such models is by layer-based additive manufacturing (AM), which however suffers from the problem of adding and removing interior suppor...
متن کاملDeformation Post-processing of Additive Manufacturing Components
Parts produced by additive manufacturing (AM) often require post processing to improve surface finish and mechanical properties. However, little attention has been given to including deformation in the post processing. Deformation post-processing can address some part size, manufacturing cost, and geometry limitations of 3D printing. Additionally, it could be used to create 3D surfaces using pl...
متن کاملSelf-supporting Topology Optimization for Additive Manufacturing
The paper presents a topology optimization approach that designs an optimal structure, called a self-supporting structure, which is ready to be fabricated via additive manufacturing without the usage of additional support structures. Such supports in general have to be created during the fabricating process so that the primary object can be manufactured layer by layer without collapse, which is...
متن کاملImage-Based Slicing and Tool Path Planning for Hybrid Stereolithography Additive Manufacturing
Hybrid stereolithograpgy (SLA) process synthesizes the laser scanning based SLA system and mask projection based SLA system. It adopts laser as the energy source for scanning the border of a 2D pattern, whereas a mask image is used to solidify the interior area. By integrating the merits of the two subsystems, the hybrid SLA process can achieve relatively high surface quality without sacrificin...
متن کاملOne-step volumetric additive manufacturing of complex polymer structures
Two limitations of additive manufacturing methods that arise from layer-based fabrication are slow speed and geometric constraints (which include poor surface quality). Both limitations are overcome in the work reported here, introducing a new volumetric additive fabrication paradigm that produces photopolymer structures with complex nonperiodic three-dimensional geometries on a time scale of s...
